Please don't let all the sweet family photos and treasured moments I share here mislead you into believing that life is all rosy and perfect over here. I assure you, it IS NOT. Social media and blogs are a wonderful way to keep in touch with family and friends, however, they can often be innocently misleading. Naturally, I experience my own unique personal challenges and hard days like everyone else; however, I consciously choose to not share the icky (and really personal) stuff we experience because that is not the tone or vibe I've ever wanted to take with my blog. I prefer this space to be a positive and uplifting place for my readers to stop by and visit from time to time and catch up with what's going on with our family.

Thoughts on Motherhood
"Motherhood is more than bearing children. … It is the essence of who we are as women." --Sheri Dew
“If a child is not listening, don’t despair. Time and truth are on your side. At the right moment, your words will return as if from heaven itself. Your testimony will never leave your children.” --Neil L. Andersen
“As it stands, motherhood is a sort of wilderness through which each woman hacks her way, part martyr, part pioneer; a turn of events from which some women derive feelings of heroism, while others experience a sense of exile from the world they knew.” --Rachel Cusk
“Mama was my greatest teacher, a teacher of compassion, love, and fearlessness. If love is sweet as a flower, then my mother is that sweet flower of love.” --Stevie Wonder
“We are the windows through which our children first see the world. Let us be conscious of the view.” ― Katrina Kenison, Mitten Strings for God: Reflections for Mothers in a Hurry
“Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in, it is what God gave you time for.” --Rachel JanKovic
“If you try your best to be the best parent you can be, you will have done all that a human being can do and all that God expects you to do.” --Jeffrey R. Holland
“Motherhood has completely changed me. It’s just about like the most completely humbling experience that I’ve ever had. I think that it puts you in your place because it really forces you to address the issues that you claim to believe in, and if you can’t stand up to those principles when you’re raising a child, forget it.” --Diane Keaton
"Let us be examples of righteousness to our children, have our family prayers and ask the blessing upon the food. Let our children see that as husbands and wives we are affectionate with one another. While there is yet time take the opportunity as husbands and wives to bless each other with your love, with your kindness and your helpfulness in every way. Take opportunity while there is yet time to teach your sons and daughters how to live to be happy. … Let our homes be sanctuaries of peace and hope and love." --George Albert Smith
"Being a mother is learning about strengths you didn't know you had and dealing with fears you didn't know existed." --Linda Wooten
“Meaning and purpose come not from accomplishing great things in the world, but simply from loving those who are right in front of you, doing all you can with what you have, in the time you have, in the place where you are.” ― Katrina Kenison, Magical Journey: An Apprenticeship in Contentment
"Motherhood is tough. If you just want a wonderful little creature to love, you can get a puppy." --Barbara Walters
"There is no limit to what a mother can accomplish. Righteous women have changed the course of history and will continue to do so." --Julie B. Beck
"You have nothing in this world more precious than your children. When you grow old, when your hair turns white and your body grows weary, when you are prone to sit in a rocker and meditate on the things of your life, nothing will be so important as the question of how your children have turned out. It will not be the money you have made. It will not be the cars you have owned. It will not be the large house in which you live. The searing question that will cross your mind again and again will be, How well have my children done?" --Gordon B. Hinckley
