XOXO,

I had a really hard time this Mother's Day with my mother {GRANNY} gone and having a miscarriage back in February I found it hard for me to celebrate for Scotty's mom but I continued to pray all day and God helped me through it. I probably wont be going on Summer/Anniversary Vacation this year because May 25th I will be having open heart surgery so I will probably spend my summer in bed healing.

I had a blast this mother's day weekend... I wrote about it here :) http://www.thebluehouseblog.com/2012/05/katie-and-texas-giant.html. I'm already a follower of your blog; stop by and check mine out if you get a chance!
ReplyDeleteOh boy this book is on my wishlist! And Kelle ALWAYS reminds me of the "celebrity" version of you as a blogger :) Yours are the only 2 mommy blogs I read (and I actually found yours first!)
ReplyDeleteAh anyways, we had a very low key mother's day because that's the way my mom likes it. She doesn't want to go out and fight the crowds at restaurants. We all worked in the garden planting some flowers and the dying Easter Lily, and then my father made dinner and I made a family recipe cake for dessert. I think it's the only day in the past 25 years that my mother HASN'T cooked SOMETHING!
Thanks for the chance :)

ReplyDeleteWe went to a new beach we'd never been to and fell in love. It's only an hour from our house and there were tons of cute shops and gardens to visit. We also got to eat delicious seafood!

My mother's day was nothing short of perfect....it was my first one!! My son is 4 months old...I woke up to a nursery decorated with streamers and balloons and found my son wearing a homemade onesie made with fabric markers, thanking me for being a great mom. It was a perfect day to realize how much motherhood means to me and how wonderful my husband is for making me feel so special. I cry every time I think of my little boy growing up , which means I cried A LOT on Sunday! Meg.wilkerson(at)yahoo(dot)com

Mother's Day was wonderful. We spent the afternoon relaxing by the pool and I enjoyed all of the homemade gifts from my kiddos. That night my parents and grandma came over for homemade strawberry shortcake. It was bittersweet because my grandma has cancer and is very sick...only a few weeks left. I am SO happy that she was feeling up to coming over to my house...a mother's day I will not forget.
