As most parents know...trying to keep your school-age children entertained and busy during the
summer months can be a bit of a challenge. But this can be particularly challenging for parents
of boys who are ADHD. They MUST have a routine...activities planned...a variety of ways
are needed for them to work out all their energy or the summer vacation can become a nightmare.
Each summer, I try to have Noah enrolled in a variety of summer camps so he can stay busy
and meet new friends--or otherwise--he'd drive me completely batty!! ;-)
One of the other moms at Noah's school told me about the summer camps at Quinta Mazatlan--
a really cool local nature and birding center here in town. It sounded like
something he would really enjoy--especially since he loves the outdoors and nature so much.
I did some research about it online and decided to register him for their week-long "Animal Planet" camp.
It was from 8am - noon--which was perfect because it gave him something
to do in the mornings and then we could pick him up--go grab lunch and
then have our afternoons to go do other fun activities.
All the kids at the camp seemed to really enjoy themselves...they played fun games, took walks
on the nature trails, observed and discussed birds and plants and made arts and crafts.
Each morning when we would walk Noah through the path to where the camp was being held ...
I enjoyed taking photographs of the many plants, flowers and the beautiful historical mansion there.
I tried to arrive a little early each day before pick-up time and snap some photos of Noah playing
and enjoying himself...
