Golfing with Pops

My Dad (a/k/a Pops to the grandkids) loves golf.
It's his favorite thing to do in his free time-- other than spending time with his family,
and well--going to catch a flick at the movie theatre.

As a kid, he enjoyed taking me and my brothers golfing at our hometown's golf course
where we were members.  My brothers and I practically grew up at the Gilmer Country
Club--most of our summers were spent hanging out at the course with our friends--
either swimming, golfing or driving around the course on dad's golf cart.

I have such fond memories of our time hanging out here...
Mom driving us out to the Country Club to go swimming and hang out with our friends.
And then Dad would often meet us by the pool on his lunch break with Swanners burgers--
we'd eat lunch together and then he'd head back to his dental office while we'd swim the rest of the afternoon until Mom picked us up.

My brothers and I would usually run up a quite a tab in the pro shop with all our Starburst,
peanut butter crackers, chips and Mr. Pibb treats...

Such fond memories....

Now that Noah is getting older and is showing some interest in golf, when we come into town
to visit--he likes to go with Pops out to the golf course to swing some clubs and drive the golf cart.

Our recent trip home last week--the two of them headed out to the Country Club one evening
to hit a few golf balls... I tagged along for the first hour so I could snap some photos of them together.

I'm thankful that Noah is now creating some of the same special memories
with Pops like I did all those years ago as a kid hangin' out at the Country Club.

They had a great time together and Noah is already looking forward to going
golfing again with Pops next time we visit Gilmer.
