One of the things I enjoy most about the Christmas season is opening all the beautiful
Christmas cards we receive each year in the mail from our friends and family.
But as much as I love Christmas cards and putting together our own family Christmas card,
I pretty much dread the process of making it happen. As all you moms out there know...
it's sooooo stink'in stressful trying to pick out the kids outfits...get them dressed on the
day of the picture taking and then all the while praying that they'll cooperate and
smile all pretty for the camera when it comes time for the photos.
If you remember our photo session last year--it was pretty much a disaster
(and comical at the same time) trying to get the kids to
cooperate for our photographer.
You can see our Christmas pictures from last year if you click here.
So this year, I decided to make it as easy as possible...no professional photographer--
and only the kiddos in the picture. Over the Thanksgiving holiday, we dressed
them up in their little outfits (the boys didn't want to wear their suits--so
I didn't fight them on it--just threw on their slacks and shirts and went with it)
And we then just let them walk around on our 14 acres...
while I snapped some photos. It was early in the morning--
cold and windy outside--so I knew I had to take the pics fast before we had meltdowns.
Jody was a trooper and helped me--he posed the kids and got them to laugh and smile...
as you can imagine-- with a 2-year old, 3-year old and very hyper 8-year old--
it was almost impossible to get the "money shot" I was hoping for. But oh well,
they had fun doing their silly poses and I was able to pick out some really cute
ones to use for our Christmas card this year.
Here are several of the outtakes that I didn't use-- which despite their imperfections--
we thought were still precious.
Noah was so sweet--he was trying to help Gavin and Taylor smile throughout
our little photo session. When Gavin started to get frustrated and cry--he hugged him and got
him to start laughing by making silly faces and gestures. It was really sweet.
I used this last one above for our card along with individual photos of each one of them.
We'll cherish these sweet photos forever...so very thankful for these three amazing kids
God has blessed us with.
They are pretty awesome.: -)
