Virginia Safari Park

We took a family trip to Virginia and one of our first places to visit was the Virginia Safari Park. It starts with a drive-thru safari park experience and the kids thought it was the coolest thing being able to feed the animals right out of our car.

After the drive-thru part of the safari, we were able to get out of our car and and walk through and see some of the other animals.  It was pretty hot and there wasn't a lot of shade, so we didn't spend a lot of time in this area of the park.  But the kids still loved it.  Their favorite area was seeing the giraffes and feeding the birds.

Afterwards we went and grabbed a bite to eat and headed back to the hotel.  The kids swam in the pool for a while and then it was bath and then bed time.  They literally passed out asleep as soon as their heads hit their pillows.  It was a fun day at the Safari Park --and a great way to kick off our week in Virginia.
