Noah and his classmates at school have been working hard preparing for their special Grandparent's Day celebration and Thanksgiving luncheon. It was this past Friday, and he was so excited that KiKi and Pops were able to be here for his special day. It was truly a sacrifice for them to make this 6- hour trip to be here, especially given the difficult health challenges my dad is facing. We were so humbled and grateful that they made this trip. What awesome and loving grandparents they are --they are so loving and committed to all of their grandchildren. They have always made it a priority to be a part of our children's lives and make them feel so special and loved. And for that I am so grateful. This recent visit was another example of this. This is why the kids love and adore their KiKi and Pops so much and have such a close relationship with them.
Grandparent's Day started with a flag dedication at 8:30 in the morning at the flag pole honoring Veterans. Afterwards, all the grandparents were invited into the classrooms with their grandchildren and spent the morning attending the classes with their grandchildren. There were able to see and experience what each classroom is like for the kids and participate in hands-on activities with them. It was a lot of fun.
Afterwards, everyone gathered in the hall and the kids put on a special program in dedication to all the grandparents with poetry, a play and special musical numbers. It was really special and KiKi and Poppy enjoyed getting to see Noah at work in his learning environment and getting to meet all of his friends and teachers.
Gavin was at school, so he couldn't attend the luncheon with us, but Tay-Tay had fun going with us and getting to sit on Pop's lap and cuddling with him. ;-)
We all had a wonderful time at the luncheon and so enjoyed the children's performance…my favorite was when they sang, "Amazing Grace". It was beautiful. KiKi and Pops loved spending the morning with Noah and experiencing what a normal day is like for him. They were so impressed with his new school, his teachers and how excited he is about being there. We're so thankful they were able to be there for him as the children honored their grandparents in such a sweet and loving way.
It meant the world to Noah that they came.
